# From a Sweetener Store to a Metabolic Health Brand: Reeba’s Website Transformation

A business may continue to sell the same way even after it has outgrown the website.

The challenge was to achieve Reeba's transformation. The original Zeroh website had focused on a sweetener: it had explained the product, displayed the packs and guided visitors towards the point of checkout. With Reeba, however, a wider online environment was needed in order to cover its metabolic-health positioning, its expanding range of products and the educational content that helps customers to understand where those products fit.

For Optiblack we translated that change into a new Shopify experience for Reeba.life, the project including the visual language, the navigation, the product pages, the science content, the interactive tools and the way the team would keep the website after handover.

*We compared the old zerohsugar.com with the new reeba.life, page by page. Here is what changed, why it works, and how we will measure it.*

zerohsugar.com was a single-product store. It sold one sweetener, led with fear, and kept its clinical proof scattered across product copy and a 40-question FAQ.

reeba.life turns the business into a metabolic-health brand: a clear promise, a health assessment as the front door, dedicated science pages, a product range that can grow (Zerøh and now CarbShield), and content that reads like a brand, not a catalogue.

**The common thread:** Every change moves the site from "here is a sweetener, buy it" to "here is how to build better health, and here is where our products fit". That widens the audience, earns trust before the sale, and gives Reeba room to launch more products under one brand.

# **The redesign at a glance**

| **Page** | **Before** | **After** | **Verdict** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| **Home** | Fear-led "Sugar Crisis", straight to checkout | Promise, goals, 3-step journey, assessment | Major upgrade |
| **Assessment** | Did not exist | 12-step Metabolic Age test with disclaimer | New capability |
| **Science** | No page; proof buried in copy | Two science pages, CTRI ID, citations | Major upgrade |
| **Product page** | Amazon-style title, dense claims | Clean name, pack story, trust strip, how-to | Upgrade |
| **Shop** | "Collection: Products" list | Shop by Needs, trust strip, 2 brands | Upgrade |
| **Recipes / articles** | Thin recipe cards, raw placeholders in posts | Story-led recipes, tips, related posts | Upgrade |
| **About** | Did not exist | Founder story, beliefs, Medicine 3.0 | New capability |
| **FAQ** | 40 medical-heavy answers, one long list | 6 tabs, plain language, service info | Major upgrade (lower risk) |

# **8 decisions that make reeba.life work**

These are the choices that make the new site feel premium, credible and easy to act on.

1. **Sell an outcome, not an ingredient.** "Health Is Built Every Day" replaces "Sweetness You Can Trust". It speaks to anyone who cares about their health, not only people already searching for a sweetener.
2. **Make the assessment the front door.** Start Your Journey and Take the Assessment both lead to a 12-step Metabolic Age test. Visitors get something personal before they are asked to buy, and Reeba captures a qualified lead.
3. **Let people start from their goal.** Six goal cards (Less Sugar, Steady Energy, Smarter Meals, Healthy Weight, Age Well, Daily Balance) let people self-select, and each click tells Reeba what the visitor cares about.
4. **Give proof its own home.** Zerøh Science and CarbShield Science pages carry study names, the CTRI trial ID and safety approvals, so sceptical buyers and doctors can check the evidence without wading through product copy.
5. **Hope instead of fear.** Medicine 3.0 (build health early) replaces "Sugar Crisis" and "silent threat". Visitors feel capable rather than alarmed, which suits a daily-habit product.
6. **Build a brand that can grow.** The shop menu holds Zerøh Sugar and CarbShield in one design system, so new products slot in without a new site.
7. **Put people and voice up front.** Founder story, video testimonials, recipe videos and story-led recipe posts. Real faces and a clear point of view do more for trust than star ratings alone.
8. **Plain, safer language.** The FAQ is rewritten in plain English with "consult your doctor" where it matters: easier to read and much lower regulatory exposure than the old medical-claim FAQ.

# **Page by page**

## **Home: first impression**

*zerohsugar.com vs reeba.life*

**Before**

![](https://optiblack.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-01-3301-AM.png?width=528&height=350&name=undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-01-3301-AM.png)

*Kitchen scene, low-contrast headline over the photo, a floating "Morning fuel." label and one CTA: Shop Zeroh.*

**After**

![](https://optiblack.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-01-7132-AM.png?width=527&height=288&name=undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-01-7132-AM.png)

*A calm hero with one promise, Start Your Journey and How Reeba Works, plus a Take Health Assessment pill in the nav.*

**What we got right**

- The page leads with an outcome visitors want, so the site speaks to a far wider audience.
- Two clear paths (start, or learn first), plus an assessment button that stays visible on every scroll.

## **Home: where the visitor starts**

**Before**

![](https://optiblack.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-00-7179-AM.png?width=526&height=338&name=undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-00-7179-AM.png)

*"The Sugar Crisis" opened with glucose swings, hidden sugars and metabolic load.*

**After**

![](https://optiblack.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-02-6704-AM.png?width=527&height=273&name=undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-02-6704-AM.png)

*"Where would you like to start?" goal cards the visitor picks from.*

**What we got right**

- Hope over fear: visitors feel in control, not alarmed.
- Goal choice is a useful signal for personalisation and retargeting.

## **Health assessment (new)**

*reeba.life/pages/metabolic-test*

**Before**

- No assessment. Every path led to a product or a discount code.
- The only lead capture was a footer email box and a recipe download form asking for name, email and phone.

**After**

- "Know Your Metabolic Age": 12 short steps, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Covers body, activity, sleep, stress, meals, conditions, medication and optional blood markers (HbA1c, glucose, lipids).
- Explains how the score is worked out and carries a clear medical disclaimer.
- Ends with name, mobile, city and profession: a qualified lead with context.

**What we got right**

- It gives value before asking for anything, which builds trust for a health product.
- Every completed test is a lead Reeba can follow up with a relevant product.
- Optional blood values mean people without lab reports can still finish.

## **Proof and science**

*Home comparison table vs reeba.life/pages/science*

**Before**

![](https://optiblack.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-01-0660-AM.png?width=526&height=408&name=undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-01-0660-AM.png)

*A comparison table with values offset by one row and columns cut off. "Learn More" linked to a staging domain.*

**After**

![](https://optiblack.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-02-3919-AM.png?width=527&height=373&name=undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-02-3919-AM.png)

*Home "Built On Science" pillars lead to a full Zerøh Science page.*

**What we got right**

- The Zerøh Science page explains both ingredients, why 50% Mogroside V matters, and cites named studies.
- The trial is shown transparently: 96 adults, randomised and double-blind, CTRI/2026/01/100795, MGM Medical College.
- CarbShield gets its own science page, including an honest "study in progress" status for its CGM trial.

## **Product page**

*Zerøh Sugar 250g on both sites*

**Before**

- Amazon-style title: "Zeroh Sugar | Monk Fruit & Allulose Sweetener | No Erythritol | Clinically Tested | 250g".
- A dense claims block and a repeated badge marquee.
- Stats that read badly, e.g. "Blood Glucose 10% Increase".
- Inconsistent trial numbers ("100+ participants" vs 96 elsewhere).

**After**

- A clean name, "Zerøh Sugar 250g", with a pack story (Kitchen Essential Pack).
- Free shipping, easy returns and safe checkout right under Add to Cart.
- Ingredients, use cases (tea, cooking, festive treats, baking, drinks), how-to-use and nutrition per serving.
- Recipe videos, 14 reviews, five plain-language FAQs and an assessment prompt.

**What we got right**

- It reads like a premium brand page rather than a marketplace listing.
- It answers buying questions in order: what it is, will it work for me, how do I use it, is it safe to buy.

## **Shop page**

*zerohsugar.com/collections/all vs reeba.life/collections/shop-all*

**Before**

- Heading "Collection: Products".
- Seven Zeroh SKUs with long marketplace titles and sale badges.
- Filters for availability and price only.

**After**

- A "Shop all" banner with a one-line brand promise.
- "Shop by Needs" with the same six goals as the home page.
- Short product names, with CarbShield alongside Zerøh.
- Trust strip: Doctor Developed, Clinically Reviewed, Plant Powered, Personalised Plans.

**What we got right**

- Goal-led shopping carries the home page idea all the way to the shelf.
- Two brands under one roof show Reeba is a platform, not a single SKU.

## **Recipes and articles**

*zerohsugar.com/pages/rice-kheer vs reeba.life/blogs/news/kalakand-no-sugar-still-got-rizz*

**Before**

- Recipe pages were thin cards: six one-line steps, no tips.
- Content errors, such as a Rice Kheer recipe listing vermicelli instead of rice.
- A published post still showed raw "\[INTERNAL LINK: ...\]" placeholders.
- Consumer content sat in a blog named "For Doctor's".

**After**

- Story-led recipes with a playful title and a warm intro.
- Exact quantities, step headings, a "how do you know it's ready" texture test, tips and storage advice.
- Recipe tags, related posts, share buttons and comments.

**What we got right**

- Recipes now feel like content people want to read and share, not filler pages.
- Each recipe shows Zerøh in a real Indian dish, which is the strongest product demo there is.

## **Content hub**

*Home page article sections*

**Before**

![](https://optiblack.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-02-9656-AM.png?width=526&height=292&name=undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-02-9656-AM.png)

*"Insights on Healthy Living": truncated titles and the agency name shown as the author.*

**After**

![](https://optiblack.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-02-1002-AM.png?width=527&height=276&name=undefined-Oct-24-2026-09-16-02-1002-AM.png)

*"Insights for better health": full titles with topic tags (Metabolic Health, Sugar & Blood Sugar).*

**What we got right**

- Topic tags turn a list of posts into a browsable library.
- Full titles and lifestyle images make the section look editorial rather than a sales add-on.

## **About / Why Reeba (new)**

*reeba.life/pages/about-us*

**Before**

- No About page. The footer "About us" link pointed nowhere.
- Visitors had no way to learn who was behind the product.

**After**

- "Welcome to Reeba": why the brand exists, in plain words.
- A founder letter from Vishal Totla about his own metabolic-health journey.
- Four values: Science-Led, Nature-Backed, Built Around Balance, People First.
- The Legacy Effect, Medicine 3.0 and five "What We Believe" statements, ending in an assessment CTA.

**What we got right**

- A founder with a personal reason is the strongest trust signal a young health brand has.
- It gives the brand a clear point of view that ads and content can reuse.

## **FAQ**

*zerohsugar.com/pages/faqs vs reeba.life/pages/faq*

**Before**

- One long list of about 40 answers.
- Many strong medical claims.
- Nothing on delivery, returns or how to reach support.

**After**

- Six tabs: General, Product Usage, Ingredients & Quality, Orders & Shipping, Returns & Refunds, Support.
- Short, plain answers that point people to their doctor where it matters.
- Delivery times by city tier, tracking, cancellations, refund timelines and support hours.

**What we got right**

- It answers what buyers actually ask before they pay.
- It removes the riskiest health claims from the old site.

# **Full comparison**

| **Dimension** | **Before: zerohsugar.com** | **After: reeba.life** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Positioning** | Single-product sweetener store | Metabolic-health brand with Zerøh and CarbShield |
| **Primary action** | Shop Zeroh; discount code bar | Start Your Journey → Metabolic Age assessment |
| **Navigation** | Shop All / Blog | Shop / Science / Why Reeba? / Our Stories |
| **Tone** | Fear-led; grammar slips | Hopeful, with a clear Medicine 3.0 point of view |
| **Visual system** | Mixed fonts, justified copy, render-style imagery | Green and cream palette, serif headings, Indian lifestyle photography |
| **Proof** | Claims inside product copy; misaligned table; staging link | Two science pages, named studies, CTRI trial ID |
| **Social proof** | 13 star reviews | Video testimonials, founder voice, 14 reviews on product page |
| **Content** | Thin recipes, "For Doctor's" blog with placeholders | Story-led recipes and tagged health articles |
| **Trust & service** | No About page; FAQ heavy on medical claims | Why Reeba page; plain FAQ with shipping and returns |
| **Lead capture** | Footer email; gated recipe download | Assessment lead capture plus newsletter |

# **Why a rebuild, not a refresh**

The issues on zerohsugar.com went deeper than styling. They are why starting fresh was the right call:

- **Broken credibility:** the comparison table shifted values one row off their labels, and the spike calculator marked regular sugar's 135 mg/dL spike as "Low".
- **Placeholders in public:** a live blog post linked to "\[INTERNAL LINK: Recipe e-book\]" and two similar placeholders.
- **Content errors:** the Rice Kheer recipe listed vermicelli as its main ingredient.
- **Inconsistent proof:** the trial was described as 96 participants in one place and "100+ participants" in another.
- **Staging leak:** a "Learn More" button pointed to a staging store.
- **Dead ends:** footer "About us" and "Subscribe" went nowhere, and the LinkedIn icon was labelled Vimeo.
- **Regulatory exposure:** FAQ answers made strong claims about serious medical conditions.

# **How we will know it worked**

We are tracking these from launch and reviewing them at 30 and 90 days against the old store's baseline.

| **Metric** | **Why it matters** |
| --- | --- |
| **Assessment start → completion rate** | The assessment is the new front door; drop-off by step shows where to simplify. |
| **Assessment completers → product view → purchase** | Proves the assessment-led journey converts, not just engages. |
| **Goal card click-through by goal** | Shows which needs resonate and where to focus ads and content. |
| **Science page views → add to cart** | Tells us whether proof is moving sceptical buyers. |
| **Product page add-to-cart rate (Zerøh, CarbShield)** | A direct read on the new product page layout. |
| **Recipe and article traffic → product view** | Measures whether content is feeding the funnel. |
| **Newsletter and assessment lead growth** | The size of the owned audience Reeba can market to. |
